INTRODUCING OUR PUBLISHER . WILLIAM S. THOMAS

Willam S. ThomasMr. Thomas is a long time resident and businessman from East Texas with an  extensive background in advertising, marketing and development for the Yellow Pages. Twenty-six years ago Mr. Thomas began his sales career by developing the first independent telephone directory in Longview, Texas . This phone book was published in 1981. Mr. Thomas then developed the first independent telephone directory in Tyler, Texas.  The books referred to are now well known as the Yellow Book - Transwestern Telephone Directories distributed throughout the East Texas area.  Mr. Thomas developed these directories as a general sales manager for Mid America Publishers and the directories where sold to major companies. After this rewarding experience Mr. Thomas moved on to work in a similar position to build struggling independent directories in the East Texas area with Burrows Publishing in Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Thomas was offered a management position that would have required him to move to the Dallas metro area.  He  opted for sales representative allowing him to remain in East Texas.  However, a management position that would allow him to remain in East Texas was later created for Mr. Thomas.  This was due to the success of five directories under his direction and marketing.  The directories in Mt. Pleasant, Sulphur Springs, Sherman, Denison and McCurtain County, Oklahoma are now the most used and dominate phone books in the market which Mr. Thomas served the publisher as top representative and sales manager.

After 16-years of service these books have been sold to Yell Telephone Company in England, better known as Yellow Book. These directories will continue to be a valuable asset to businesses. Rather than relocate with the company, Mr. Thomas decided to publish a new and totally different, and needed, product  - The Hispanic Community Yellow Pages - developed for the East Texas Hispanic communities. Mr. Thomas has researched the East Texas Hispanic community and found a need for a directory published in their language for shopping and business needs.  These directories will serve the Hispanic community in a way that will tie this enormous economy to the local East Texas businesses.
